PALESTINIAN MAILING LISTS

Links to local mailing lists that send out news and other information by e-mail, and discussion lists where you can participate in e-mail conversations, debate and all-out-war.

Mailing Lists

  • Birzeit University Press Release List - Press release, news and human rights material from this key Palestinian university. Depending on the temperature of the situation, more material flows out.

  • Birzeit, Palestine and the World Wide Web mailing list - announcements of what's new on the Palestinian Internet, with a focus on Birzeit University and other key websites. The companion list to the Complete Guide to Palestine's Websites, more information is available here.

  • Friends of ARIJ - Applied Research Institute-Jerusalem (ARIJ) maintains this mailing list which informs subscribers with news releases and updates about ARIJ activities and projects. ARIJ's website is excellent for up-to-date information about Israeli settlement projects and environmental issues in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. Founded in 1990, the Applied Research Institute of Jerusalem (ARIJ) is a non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting sustainable development in the occupied Palestinian territories and the self-reliance of the Palestinian people through greater control over their natural resources. The link above takes you to the subscriptions page.

  • Khalil Sakakini Cultural Center - A cultural events list from this very active Ramallah-based center. Very regular.

  • LAW, the Palestinian Society for the Protection of Human Rights and the Environment mailing list - Releases focusing on human rights violations by the Israeli government and Palestinian Authority. Usually daily, sometimes multiple releases every day but, of course, situation dependent.

  • The Palestine Report from the Jerusalem Media and Communication Centre (JMCC) offers the best weekly Palestinian English-language summary of events. JMCC also offers a daily press summary, both available via e-mail or fax for a subscription. Contact JMCC for more information.

  • nigelparry.com news list, covering:

The main list on nigelparry.com, covering additions and updates to all of the Palestinian-related material - "A Personal Diary of the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict", "Developing the Palestinian Internet", and "Photographic Portfolio" sections of the website. Occasional Palestinian-related news from "Nigel Parry, Songs & Music" is also sent out. This list replaces the old "Personal Diary of the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict" mailing list. To join, send a blank e-mail message to news@nigelparry.com.
