
Barley, wheat, and cotton farming and their export to both, the Arab and international,
worlds are well known to Gaza. In addition, Gaza has plentiful of citrus farms such as
lemons and oranges, which are considered amongst the best produce in the world. Bee-honey
farms, tomatoes, potatoes, cucumbers, and several other fruits such as grapes, strawberry,
figs, watermelons, and honeydew are also distinguished productions of the city.
Gaza's agriculture depends
mainly on underground water wells, and several studies for the desalination of the
Mediterranean waters are underway throughout the Strip's municipalities. Furthermore, it
is worth noting that the economy in Gaza depends considerably on flower farming and export
