The Arts and Crafts Village with its traditional building was
designed by Palestinian architect. It was built by Palestinian laborers using mud and
local building materials. The project was funded by the UNDP, implemented and supervis-ed
by PECDAR as part of its job creation program.
Municipality of
Gaza now runs the village. The Village complex includes an exhibition hall; workshops for
hand made crafts, and traditional coffee shop. It has breathtaking azure courtyard, which
is its central focus. |
