BA in Sociology

Admission Requirements

1. A grade of 70 or above in the following courses: Sociology 131, and Sociology 233 OR Sociology 234
2. Approval by the department

Requirements for the Major in Sociology:

Students are required to complete a minimum of 57 credit hours from courses offered by the department (including cross-listed courses from other departments) as follows:

1. Sociology 131, 233, 236, 237, 238, 337, 338, 340, 341, 438
2. Anthropology 240, 334
3. At least 18 credit hours from elective courses offered by the department, to include at least 3 credit hours in anthropology (Women's Studies 232 is included within these elective courses)

Requirements for the Minor in Sociology:

Students are required to complete at least 18-19 credit hours from courses offered by the department, as follows:

1. Sociology 131, 233, 236, 238, 237 OR 341
2. At least 3 credit hours from elective courses offered by the department
