Announcement: Third Conference on Information Technology in Higher Education October 1999

The Information Technology Unit (IT Unit) at Birzeit University is a department of the computer center. The objective of this unit is to develop human resources that will contribute to the development of IT in Palestine, through professional training designed specifically to suit the needs of the newly emerging Palestinian state.

The IT Unit will target ministries, municipalities, the IT industry, telecommunications companies, and banking and finance sectors with academic training that will produce university graduates who will form the future IT workforce in Palestine.

The Unit will also carry out professional and consulting services, as well as research and developmentwith emphasis on programs that will contribute to the development of the infrastructure of the emerging Palestinian state.
