Education and Training for Development

Established in 1991, the Continuing Education Department (CED) at Birzeit University is an extension unit serving the Palestinian community’s needs for technical assistance and training. The primary objective of CED is human resource development. Through its programs, CED seeks to strengthen and extend the managerial, technical and service skills. Special emphasis is placed on providing training for women so that they may more effectively contribute to the modernization and development of society. CED provides a wide range of training and consulting services for both the public and private sectors. To date, over 3,000 Palestinians have benefitted from CEDs courses, which total over 5,000 training hours.
