The Social Work Department works together with the administration
and medical departments to provide ARRC patients with the quality care
and services they need. The department’s main goal is to increase the overall
well being of the patients.
The different tasks and functions performed by the department are:
1. Relieving the emotional stress generated by a physical disadvantage.
2. Addressing the individualized emotional and social needs of the patients.
The social work department is staffed by three social workers , one
rehabilitation counselor and a prt- time clinical psychologist. They cooperate
to enhance the problem-solving and coping capacities of disabled patients.
The social workers facilitate patients’ reintegration into society and
help increase the awareness of their families and communicates to the needs
of the disabled.
Social Work Department fulfill their tasks through:
1. Individual sessions (working to help the patients to express their
feelings).
2. Family sessions (helping the family to cope with the disability).
3. Home visits (to see living cinditions and family integration).
4. Out-Reach Program: S.W. work to solve patient's problems in the community
concerning their plans after discharge from K.Abu Raya Rehabilitation Center.
5. Financial help for the needed in-patiens (specially technical aids).
6. We discuss wih them their future plans.
7. Rehabiliitation Counselor : provide in-patients (school age) with
educational programs.
8. Group therapy: working on expectations and sharing experience provide
once weekly sessions)
