- 7 March 1998 - Press release announces the launch of the Free Ahmad Qatamesh website (http://www.freeqatamesh.org/) on the Web.
- 1 April 1998 - A new protest section has been added. Please visit and send an e-mail before the expiry of Ahmad's eleventh consecutive administrative detention order expires, on 9 April 1998.
- 4 April 1998 - The Good News: Ribhi Qatamesh, 42 years old, Ahmad's brother was released on Tuesday, 31 March 1998 due to his critical health situation after serving four years under administrative detention. He has heart problems and has recently suffered from dizziness and imbalance. The cause of the dizziness and imbalance is still unknown but he is receiving medical attention. The Bad News: Ahmad's detention period has just been extended for the 12th consecutive time. By this morning, Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu's office had received over 80 e-mail messages protesting the continued detention of Ahmad. Please encourage people to keep visting the protest page in the run up to the 9 April appeal.

wife Suha Barghoutti has just rung to tell us that Ahmad
has been released and is on his way to his home in
Ramallah.
The family would like to thank all of you who wrote protest
letters to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and
for all of your support for his case. The protest letter has been amended to call for the release of other Palestinian administrative detainees. Please send a copy of the different second e-mail letter.
The Free Ahmad Qatamesh website will not go offline, but
will reappear as a site dedicated to the release of other
Palestinian administrative detainees.
