Language Proficiency

Language courses have in the past been offered at CED as a supplement to continuous training on a particular subject. However, CED is presently undergoing plans to develop an English Language program in co-operation with professors from Birzeit University to offer the necessary courses for the improvement of general English language skills. Hebrew courses are also currently being offered at the department. A great need has been identified for such courses in the Palestinian community and it is hoped that CED will be able to offer similar proficiency courses in other languages in late 1997.

English Course for TV Technicians

The aim of this course was to teach participants technical English in preparation for the forthcoming course in Colour TV Systems.

English for Special Purposes

This course was offered to individuals working in pharmacies to upgrade their knowledge of English. It focused particularly on language used in work situations.

Journalism: Writing & Editing News in Newspapers

This course was offered to journalists currently working for local and international newspapers. The course offered theoretical and practical training in professional writing and editing of news and articles, effective interviewing, specialized journalism and critical study of Palestinian media.
