Computer TrainingThe Continuing Education Department has become one of the leading trainers in computer technology in Palestine. Courses are offered on a regular basis and cover many issues related with computer technology. Tailor-made computer training courses aim at filling the gaps in skill levels of participants working in both the public and private sectors, as well as NGOs and the general public. All computer training takes place in CED’s fully equipped computer lab located on the campus of Birzeit University. Training is offered by skilled computer experts who work closely with participants to offer one on one training in computer technology. ![]() The following is a complete list of computer courses which are currently being offered by the Continuing Education Department's Computer Laboratory, with the addition of courses which have been offered in the past and may be offered according to demand. Course offerings are expanded continuously to meet with current trends in computer training. AUTOCAD Release 12This course introduced the AUTOCAD system to trainees. The course was offered in three modules of varying degrees of skill: Introduction, Beginners, and Intermediate. AUTOCAD Release 13 3DAn advanced course in AUTOCAD where designers can see their graphs in 3D.
3D StudioUsed for engineers in order to help them in designing their projects more efficiently. This program has an interface with many graphic programs which in turn produces better images for the designer. Computer Accounting SystemAn introduction to computerized accounting systems and its advantages in business management. CDS/ISIS Training: Computerized DocumentationThis AMIDEAST sponsored course introduced college and university librarians to the index search interface and format of reservation system. It also offered an introduction to the use of the Internet. Construction Management Using Microsoft Project 4.0Project managers of development and construction projects were introduced to modern project management techniques, project evaluation and review techniques (PERT) by using Microsoft Project 4.0 CorelDraw 5.0An introduction to the uses of computers in graphic design. This program is suitable for publishing companies as well as for artists and people working in the field of media. Electronic MailAn introduction to the use of information technology on the Internet and e-mail programs. Internet and HTMLHow to create a home page on the Internet, and how to browse the World Wide Web. This course can be greatly expanded with the upgrade of the lab, as many of the computers are currently too slow to run the required programs and do not have the necessary specifications for much of the training needed in this course. Microsoft Access 2.0An introduction to data bases using Microsoft Access 2.0 Arabic Edition. Students learn how to create a complete data base, including tables, forms, queries, and reports. Microsoft Project 4.0Project managers of development and construction projects were introduced to modern project management techniques, Project Evaluation and Review Techniques (PERT) by using Microsoft Project 4.0. MS-Excel 5.0This course was offered to a number of groups of professionals and highlighted the advantages of the use of Excel in the work place. Microsoft PhotoShopA program used to enhance graphical images and photos, as well as designing new images and graphs. Microsoft WindowsThis course offers extensive training on the applications of Microsoft Windows. The course is offered at varying degrees: Introduction, Intermediate and Advanced. MS-WordAn in-depth training course on the applications of MS-Word. This course was given in two modules: MS-Word, and Advanced MS Word. Novell NetwareAn introduction to the Novell Netware system. Novell Networks: System Management and AdministrationAn introductory survey of the basic concepts and components of computer networking, including the structure, organization, applications and management of the Internet system, linking individual computer networks to the Information Super Highway. Oracle 7.0: Intermediate and AdvancedAn introduction to the basic principles and applications of Oracle, using the Oracle program for building data bases.. ParadoxAn introduction to the applications of the Paradox system. Spreadsheets in BusinessAn introduction to using computerized spreadsheets for businesses. UNIX Operating SystemsA general introduction to the UNIX environment and its necessary utilities. WP 5.1This course covers the applications and capabilities of WordPerfect 5.1.
