To the Intellectuals of the World .
It can't be said "I have not seen, I have
not heard," when the blood of Palestinians
covers the streets and the television screens.
Mohammed Durra, a child in his father's arms like
a frightened dove, did not escape murder in cold-blood.
But, there are others, killed away from the
camera, who also have names, and mothers and
little dreams.
The soil of Palestine is saturated with the
blood of its martyrs, and all that it sees in
this hot autumn are flowers of blood. But what
can the

except turn towards the struggle for
freedom in order to return nature to its
place, and to bring back peace from its
long exile to the city of peace,
Jerusalem, besieged by guns and tanks. |

The Israeli occupation has gone on for too
long, and the Palestinian people have chosen the
path of a peaceful settlement to implement their
rights to freedom and to independence in the
framework of an independent state, on just over
20% of their historic home land. But the Israeli
government is still running away from the demands
of peace, resorting to its own reference instead
of an international one, aiming to enforce its
own racist understanding of peace which is based
on a master and slave mentality. How can we, the
Palestinian people, accept the blatant violation
of our national and human aspirations as well as
our rights to the sacred Christian and Moslem
sites in Jerusalem?
We call upon you from this tormented land to
declare your solidarity with the unarmed
Palestinian people as they face the Israeli war
machine, as they defend their national and human
rights and the rights of their children

Defending our right to freedom is defending this
threatened peace from being yet another fallen
martyr. Rescue peace, rescue freedom.
