PACE is a registered Palestinian non-governmental, non-profit organization. Its main goals are: promoting awareness of the importance of the Palestinian cultural heritage, and help protect it. PACE also promotes cultural tourism in Palestine, local and international, through scientific research, public education and awareness programs, and through organizing guided tours to tourist and cultural attraction sites in Palestine. The main task that PACE undertakes is to establish and maintain cultural contacts between the Palestinian people and the peoples of the world. The association coordinates efforts with interested international cultural institutions and individuals with the aim of creating better conditions for a lasting peace in the region and the world.
For almost half a century now, Palestine, its culture, history and even its name have been distorted by occupation in the eyes of the world. However, neither the Palestinians nor the world have accepted this situation. It is only recently that Palestine has been put back on the map due to the current peace process between the Palestinian authority and Israel. It is now time for Palestine to be re-introduced and presented to the world and for the world to be presented to the Palestinian people.
PACE provides high quality professional services to the visitors of the Palestinian areas who seek to know Palestine, the people, the land and the culture, and to Palestinians seeking to study, travel or work abroad. Our services include: tour guiding, Lecturing, translation, interpretation, consultation, and research assistance. The association provides its services for groups and institutions as well as on an individual basis. It organizes guided tours as well as lectures, courses and seminars on Palestinian society, culture and history. Some programs of PACE are offered on a regular basis, others can be negotiated with interested organizations to meet their particular needs.
PACE was founded by a group of Palestinian professionals, mainly archaeologists, historians, geographers and engineers. It is headed by an international advisory committee made of prominent and respected academics, and a trustees council made up of nine Palestinian academics active in the field of cultural exchange. It is run by a team of Palestinians knowledgeable in Palestinian history, society and culture.
