PALTEL Honors the Mothers of Palestinian Martyrs
During a Mother's Day Celebration
A Mother's Day ceremony was held on Thursday 21/3/2002 at Al Yasmeen Hotel in Nablus honoring the mothers of Palestinian martyrs since the outbreak of Al Intifada on September 28, 2000. What was meant to be a happy day for mothers around the world was indeed a sad day for mothers in Palestine as each remembered their loved ones.
Approximately 120 mothers attended the ceremony in addition to the Nablus Governor, Abu Jehad, and representatives from a number of Palestinian institutions and associations.
The ceremony was partly sponsored by PALTEL through the donation of a symbolic gift to each mother & hosted by Mr. Ali Toukan. Speeches and poetry readings were given as well as a number of heart warming songs played by a local Palestinian chorale.
Among those who gave a speech was Mr. Mousab Khorma, the CEO of PALTEL, who emphasized the importance of the company's social responsibility and commitment to the local community in parallel to building a modern independent Palestinian network.
