Launching New Switches

Further new switches have been launched recently in Rafah, Jabalia and Salfit. Paltel has celebrated the event on Saturday, 8 July 2000, in the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Post and Telecommunications, Eng. Imad Falouji, and The Acting President & CEO of Paltel, Mr. Zahi Khouri.

Preliminary capacity for the new switches reaches 7000 lines for Rafah's, and 10000 lines for Jabalia's, however, Salfit's total capacity reaches 4560 lines.
This accomplishment is a further step in the track of offering additional lines per fulfilling Paltel's overall mission of serving all localities and achieving telecommunications for all. Actually, working switches in Gaza increased to 15 comparing to only six handed in to the Company since duties assumption by 1/1/1997. Current working switches and remote units reach 100 and total served localities exceed 400 throughout Palestine.
