PAL TEL establishes Investment fund
The Executive Director of the Palestinian Communications Company "PAL TEL," Zahi Khouri announced Sunday that the company seeks to establish an investment fund in nascent companies in the information technology sector. Khouri said "that the administrative council is discussing the issue and had adopted an initial decision concerning this issue. The fund will be specified for investing in the establishment of companies in the area of high technology, especially in the area of software in support of recent graduates.
Moreover Khouri showed the preparedness of the company to cooperate with suppliers of the Internet service, numbering nearly 13 companies to broaden the base of the users of the international network in Palestine, the company contributing in funding the campaigns for providing household computers to individuals, "if we want to develop the Internet in Palestine, then we have to have the goal of providing computers in every home."
The number of Internet members in Palestine had not exceeded 40,000.
