Responsibilities:
- To receive the animals brought for slaughtering,
observe the slaughtering process and to ensure sanitary conditions so that it is
appropriate for human consumption and stamp them with the municipality stamp.
- To destroy the meat which is not appropriate for
human consumption using healthy methods and making sure that they do not reach the hands
of people.
- To have strict health inspection of the meat and
its products offered for human consumption within the borders of Gaza city.
- To decrease environmental pollution by preventing
slaughtering animals outside the slaughter house and by disposing the remains in a
sanitary way.
- To apply the systems and regulations of the
municipality.
- To prepare the monthly reports on the work of the
slaughter house and the reports on urgent issues.
- To observe the cleanliness of the slaughter house
and prepare it for the work of next day.
- To contact other sections of the municipality so as
to solve problems which might delay the work like sewage draining, water, electricity and
purchases.
- To do any other work which the director sees
necessary for public interest.
- To carry out campaigns to rid the city of stray
dogs.
