Department of Urban Planning & Building Licenses

Responsibilities:
The
Department of Urban Planning & Building License is responsible for all categories of
planning, development and building license and control of the city of Gaza through the
activities of eight specialized sections of the department as follows:
1.
Building License Section:
Responsible for issuing building licenses according to planning laws and regulations.
2.
Construction Follow- up Section:
Responsible for observing the construction of buildings, issue warnings for non-license
construction and approval of providing services such as water, electricity and
professions.
3.
Urban Planning Section:
Responsible to prepare master plans, detailed plans, development plans and building
regulations for the city of Gaza.
4.
Surveying Section:
Responsible for all surveying works such as leveling, defining plot’s borders,
description of existing situation for buildings and roads.
5.
Professions & Advertising Section:
Responsible for issuing new license for all professions and industry in the city of Gaza.
Observation for the professions & industry to make sure the implementation of the
license conditions. Control of advertising means in the city.
6.
Street Naming & Numbering Section:
Responsible for providing names for the streets of the city after the approval of the
Municipal Council. It is also responsible for providing building numbers and plot numbers.
7.
License Revenues Section:
Responsible for preparing all calculations of building license, penalty fees and deposits.
