Computer & Information Center
Director: Abdul Azeem Al-Hayek

Responsibilities:

In addition to the basic duty of the center, it carries out the following duties:

• To draw strategic plans and prepare studies in order to develop the systems of the municipality and their level of performance.
• To draft policies which define the nature of the computer systems necessary for the municipality and how they are used.
• To develop and install computer networks needed by the municipality.
• To train the municipality staff.
• To maintain anything related to the computers, and the photocopy machines of the municipality.
• To provide the departments and sections of the municipality with technical support.
• To devise technical specifications and prepare tenders to buy things needed by the computer systems and photocopy machines of the municipality and follow up their implementation.
• To be responsible for all the computers, their systems and their attachments, as well as the photocopy machines of the municipality; the center distributes them to the different departments and sections according to the needs of the work and in accordance with the benefits of the municipality.

Sections of the Center:

• Systems and Networks Development Department.
• Maintenance and Technical Support Sec.
• Programs Development & Electronic Archiving Department.
• Systems of Geographical Information Section (GIS).

        (GIS) Responsibilities:

• To conduct field survey for all the buildings in Gaza city in order to collect information (name of the owner, number of floors, state of the building, the material of the roof and walls).
• To modernize and modify aerial maps in accordance with the previous survey.
• To start an information network for the infrastructure (sewage, water, electricity). and add it to the aerial map.
• To prepare tourist maps of Gaza city.
