How it did happen

After the conference to support for Palestinian media in Jerusalem in June 1994 only the Finnish Government granted money to the training institute project on January 1995.

International Federation of Journalists ( IFJ )
received one million FIM. 
In absence of the other donors Birzeit University
could not establish a media center, 
but together with the

Continuous Education Department ( CED ) IFJ,

the Finnish Broadcasting Company ( YLE ) and

the Union of Journalists in Finland ( SJL )
 

founded  a radio training centre to the campus.
