We should never allow circumstances and the faults of others to extirpate us from our souls, or to pollute our values ....

Education, in its essence, is the transformation of knowledge to become the guide for thought and behaviour. In other words, when we learn about constructive criticism, we practice it on ourselves as on others; and when we become aware of the principle of democracy, we practice it at home, and in life at large....

When we carefully analyze Gramsci’s slogan “the reproduction of theoretical consciousness”, we realize that we need this reproduction in the Palestinian and Arab context, to learn more about our culture, history, intellectual heritage and identity. Only then can we become true leftists, at least at the theoretical level, and this in turn can reformulate our character, thought, behaviour and relationships; in short, we become transformed into new human beings.

Though we must, in my opinion, encourage talents, and give opportunities to the talented, we also should comprehend and appreciate the differences between people. [...] and like fruit and vegetables, people are not carbon copies of each other...

Consequently, there is no choice for people but complementing one another.
