Department of Community and Public Health

The Department of Community and Public Health (DCPH) at Birzeit University was established informally in 1979 and became a formal University department in 1982, in response to the Palestinian community's urgent need for independent and informed health and development research and planning.

DCPH's activities include:

• Policy and action oriented research
• Feasibility studies
• Evaluation, monitoring and gathering data on the different aspects of health and health care
• Training and teaching
• Production of health education materials
