Parallel campaigns are currently being organised in 23 different countries. If you would like information on how you can coordinate a similar campaign calling for academic freedom for gaza students in your community, contact the international coordinator of the Gaza Students Campaign. A campaign poster and postcard will be available on the website in September which can be downloaded and used for campaign activities. As the campaign progresses, a webpage will be set up listing activities in various countries and contact addresses for campaign coordinators around the world.

During last year's campaign, over 10,000 signatures were collected calling for Israel to ensure the right to education of Gazan students. Signatures will be collected again for the 1998 campaign, with petitions submitted to Israeli embassies worldwide on 19 November 1998. Send an online letter to Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu calling for the right to education of Gaza students. Or send your own message to Netanhayu raising the importance of resolving the Gaza students issue. Demand that the Israeli government:

1. State unequivocally their support for the Gaza students right to continue their education at the university most suited to their academic and personal circumstances;
2. Adopt, publish, and follow standardized and transparent procedures which will enable all students to continue their studies uninterrupted.

Send a copy of the letter to your foreign ministry. It is important that goverment leaders all over the world become informed about the difficulties faced by Gaza students, and the potential to solve them.

representative in your country or city

Use the attached List of E-Mail Address for Israeli Consulates and Embassies Abroad to find the Israeli diplimatic representative located nearest to your hometown and send them a letter. If you don't find a nearby representative, contact the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs with your message. Follow-up the letter with a phone call, request to meet with a member of the staff about the issue of Gaza students.
