Association Mondiale des Radiodiffuseurs Communautaires/
World Association of Community Radio Broadcasters (AMARC)
AMARC is an international non-governmental organization serving the
community radio movement. Its goal is to support and contribute to the
development of community and participatory radio along the principals of
solidarity and international cooperation. This homepage outlines the services
AMARC provides: consultation and training, funding, publications including
newsletters and magazines, conferences and seminars, solidarity network
relaed to freedom of speech, a women's network, action alerts
Community Radio
This site was developed by Radio Netherlands. It is dedicated
to promoting and supporting small-scale and community-oriented radio.
This site has 1) articles about recent events related to freedom of speech
and censorship, 2) links to community radios around the world, and
3) a link to RealRadio, an internet magazine with a lot of useful information
(about purchasing equipment, lists of books and magazines about community
radio, practical advice related to international radio jargon, etc.).
DevMedia
Devmedia is an internet site designed to help exchange information
on "Media for Development and Democracy". This homepage has on-line reports
available, a list of upcoming international events, links to list-serves
about community media, and extensive links to other organizations related
to media and communication.
Directory of Live Radio Feeds on the Internet
This internet site is basically a list of radio station all over the
world that are connected to the internet (1584 stations from 96 countries
so far)
Institute for Global Communication (IGC)
IGC is a non-profit organization that provides, for a fee, alternative
sources of information that are accessible online, as well as internet
services for organizations. This internet site has news alerts, an
issues directory for research purposes, links to different networks (e.g.
peacenet, econet, labournet, womensnet and conflictnet), and information
about IGC's project.
The Mallard Concept
This organizatin promotes (technical primarily) and supports the establishments
of small-scale community radio stations around the world. This site
has information about the Mallard Concept's projects around the world,
and information about equipment that they provide technical assistance
with and sell
OneWorld Radio News Service
One World provides this service that allows radio stations all over
the world to exchange radio programs off the internet. This site
is divided into three sections: the first provides background information
about One World and its Radio service; the second has announcements and
news; and the third is a link to the radio news service complete with a
searchable database or programs, a help section for technical assistance
adn a listing of its members.
PANOS
The Panos London website is a source of news, opinions and perspectives
from developing countries. It has information on a wide range of topics
about the developing world with a focus on communications- such as the
impact of the Internet, telecoms liberalization, the repercussions of climate
change and other environmental issues, challenges facing women's health
and reproductive rights, and the social impact of the global HIV/AIDS pandemic.
The A-Infos Radio Project
Formed by grassroots broadcasters, free radio stations, journalists,
etc. to provide themselves with a means to share their radio programs via
the internet. This site provides a forum where radio programs can
be exchanged and it provides technical asistance related to downloading
and uploading radio programs

Banques de Programmes Radio
Developed with the assistance of Panos, this website offers radio programs
for African community radios in French-speaking Africa. This homepage
has programming related to topics of social justice, the environment, health,
etc. in Africa that can be downloaded off the internet
Center for Democratic Communication
The CDC is a project of the Democratic Media Trust which works towards
being a fully-fledged multi-media production house serving the mass democratic
movement in South Africa. This homepage has information about the
publications, and radio and audio programs the CDC produces
Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA)
MISA is a non governmental organisation with members from Southern
African countries, and it focuses primarily on the need to promote free,
independent and pluralistic media. This homepage has action alerts
related to freedom of speech infringements, links to media organizations
around Southern Africa, links to other organizations, publications and
a searchable database
National Community Radio Forum
Based in South Africa, this network lobbies for teh diversification
of the airwaves adn effecting a dynamic broadcasting environment in South
Africa by promoting community radio stations, and tries to promote networking
between community radio stations. This homepage has the Forum's reports
and documents, step-by-step information about setting up a community radio
station and a listing of members' stations

The Asian Media Information & Communication Centre (AMIC) is a
communication centre for information, research and promotion of mass communication
in the Asia-Pacific region. Their website has information about their publishing,
research and training programs, as well as information about their special
projects

Radio Netherlands
Radio Netherlands Radio Netherlands currently broadcasts radio programmes
and publishes Internet pages in seven languages over its own facilities:
Dutch, English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Indonesian and Papiamento.
This homepage is very comprehensive. This site has news stories and
updates, thematic sections related to news stories, a guide to radio stations
around the world, and link sites to realradio.

Alliance for Community Media
The Alliance for Community Media, which focuses its work in the US,
is committed to assuring everyone's access to electronic media.The Alliance
accomplishes this by creating public education, advancing a positive legislative
and regulatory environment, building coalitions, and supporting local organizing.
This site has information about state and national laws regarding teh communications
industry, and other resources related to establishing and maintaining community
media resource centers (e.g. a listing of useful publications, announcements,
etc.)
Alliance for Public Technology
APT is a US-based non-profit coalition of public
interest groups and individuals whose goal is to foster broad access to
affordable, usable information, communication services and technology.
This homepage has up to date announcements about conferences, listing of
publications which can be ordered on-line, and information related to advacy
and lobbying using the media
