Wi'am "Cordial Relationships"
Wi'am works in many different areas that relate to conflict resolution. By working on the grass roots level, Wi'am works directly with the people to address the needs. Addressing these needs are done in various ways:
- Conflict Resolution -Sulha: Wi'am mediates in interpersonal conflicts by using the Palestinian traditional method of Sulha. Sulha is a process which includes Traditional Elements. Because of responding to the needs of the community, there are various Types of Cases that arise to be mediated. Since the process of Sulha can be difficult to understand, Examples of Conflicts being Resolved are explained in further detail.
- Trainings: Through workshops, community members are able to learn about, various topics related to conflict: Sulha, Human Rights, Democracy, Gender Issues, & others.
- Youth Activities: Wi'am has taken an active involvement in the youth, both the older and the younger youth in the Bethlehem area. Some of the activities involve trips, while others are educational.
- Community Outreach: Wi'am is committed to meeting the needs of the community, to help the people resolve their problems and instill a sense joy.
- Outside Projects: Conflict is broader than just the local community. Wi'am is involved with outside joint projects, outside trainings, and also organizing the community with outside activities.
