Re: Paltel issue...question
Here is a summery of their strategy for dial up
Paltel will install a Point Of Presence in each major city and assign a national number for the Internet, let us assume it is 170. Any subscriber who wants to connect to the Internet would dial 170 and get a login screen that lists all the ISPs in Palestine. Once the user selects the ISP he is a subscriber to the system will prompt for a user name / password then he will be connected to the ISP of his choice. The only reason that they come up with this strategy is to make use of the $400K + invested in dial up access servers.  This is my understanding of their strategy, maybe you get us this strategy in writing ?

Ahmed,

I was thinking this morning about something Zahi Khouri and Walid
Najjab had spoken about a few months ago.  They had casually
advised that they HAVE an Internet strategy and would be sharing
it with PITA before releasing to get initial feedback.  I'm sure with
all the money they spent on consultants they must has a few
pages summarizing their ideal position.

Instead of us continuously revising our own strategy based on a
call here and an email there, can we see their written strategy or a
written working paper.  I think it is time that a document reflecting
their own opinion be presented before we throw out another working
paper.

Let's learn from Oslo.  Israel was sitting for 10 yrs while we
negotiated ourselves...result was catastrophe...
