Education in Palestine is based on the Academic
Secondary Education.This is a two-stream education
(literary and scientific streams) that consists of
the first and the second secondary grades. Upon
completing the ninth year of education, a student of
Palestine must choose which stream he or she will
complete. The scientific stream is based on the
sciences and focuses heavily on the math and science
courses while the literary stream is based heavily on
the liberal arts. Once completing the required twelve
years of schooling, the student in Palestine is
required to take the Tawjihi/ Matriculation
examination, a comprehensive test based on all twelve
years.Once the student passes that exam, he or she
can choose to enroll in a University or College in
the area to continue their education.
