Goals

The goals of the conference initiative are as follows:

• Address the current distortion of historical fact concerning the last 50 years, with a focus on human rights abuses
• Create a consciousness and understanding of these issues amongst the world community
• Develop strategies for addressing those past human rights abuses and providing just restitution for Palestinian victims in the framework of establishing a lasting peace
• Develop networks and increased communication between people concerned with human rights abuses committed against the Palestinian people.
• Establish a basis for further negotiation which considers all sectors of Palestinian society in the context of a continuous pattern of human rights violations.
• Highlight the promises of the UN Declaration of Human Rights and the failure of the Israeli government to fulfill even the minimum standards of this Declaration
