This 50 contact hour training program is held in cooperation with The Maastricht School of Management of the Netherlands.

The MIS training program focuses on existing Project managers, System analysts, or Senior System developers, who wish to acquire the skills necessary to determine organization’s needs of information systems, its main components and characteristics. It provides participants with the ability to put a structure for management information systems needed at their organizations, which enables them to monitor and track the process of programming for the systems needed.

The training will cover the main themes concerning information systems in today’s enterprises and the skills needed to manage information.

The program is one module in which several topics will be covered. Trainees will develop projects after finishing the program to practically apply methods and skills that they are trained on.

The Challenges of Applying IT successfully:

This is an introduction to the phases of system building and maintenance. It covers the innovation bases on information technology, data processing, and obstacles when applying information technology.

Basic Concepts for Understanding Systems:

This theme covers basic concepts of systems such as system framework and models, viewing business as a system, information system, what do we mean by information system, information system perspectives, and analyzing IT enables Systems from a business point of view.

Business Processes

The participants learn the applications and impact of information system, what are .the architectural characteristics of a business process, types of Information systems, and evaluating business performance by using IS.

Competing Through IT

This theme discusses increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of an organization, how to help firms to compete through selling, pricing, and product differentiation, and how to go beyond the information system categories..

Information and Databases

The theme difference between Data, information, knowledge, data modeling, conceptual views and semantic data models.

Relational Database Design

The theme covers entity relationship model, database normalization, database design cases sing Access database demo.

Managing Data

This theme deals with database management systems, DBMS functionality, concurrency, integrity, recovery, and security, and also centralized vs. decentralized systems.

Managing Information

This theme covers the issues of managing information, evaluating information used in business processes, Models as components of information systems, Data warehouses.

Dragan Nikolic, PH.D MSM
Professor of Information Systems. Holds a MS. in Corporate Science from the University of Southern California (USA), and s Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering – Biocybernetics from the University of Ljublijana (Slovenia). Dr. Nikolic took part in research projects in systems modeling and implementation of computerized hearing aid implants at Children’s Hospital, Los Angeles and the House Ear Institute, Los Angeles. He has more than 20 years of academic experience as Professor of Computer Science and Head of Computer Science Department at the University of Skopje (Macedonian). His main interests are in Applied Information Technology, Computer Networks and development of Information Systems and Databases.
