Birzeit University Campus

The construction of Birzeit University's current campus began in 1977. The campus rests on approximately 200 acres of land, upon a hilltop that provides a vast panoramic view of the surrounding topography. The Campus is located on the outskirts of the West Bank town of Birzeit, about 20 kilometers north of Jerusalem. The masonry building and flourishing green landscaping make the campus quite unique in its beauty. Birzeit's campus is a reflection of the motivation and educational aspirations of the Arab and international communities. Built entirely from donations and sponsorship from Palestine, the Arab world and abroad, the campus was itself a success story in the face of military occupation. The currently existing and planned University buildings are:
- Science Building, built in 1980, houses the science departments, labs and several lecture halls.
- Umar Al Aqad Engineering Building, built in 1984, houses the engineering departments, workshops, laboratories as well some Faculty of Arts departments.
