Religion Churches The Bethlehem 2000 Project has included the religious feasts within its calendar of events and encouraged church participation in the cultural life and community activities. It supports the churches in the practical concerns and implementation of their events as well as provides the necessary security and logistical arrangements.
From a wider perspective, the Bethlehem 2000 Project would like to join with the Churches and send out a local Christian message as a reflection of a dynamic and vibrant ecumenical relationship that interprets the local situation abroad. Greater Bethlehem, Jerusalem as well as the whole region could emerge as an attractive and fulfilling tourist destination for all visitors, Christians and non-Christians alike, and will stand out as a model for pluralism and co-existence. Religious tourism, through the Bethlehem 2000 Project, allows the groups of tourists to connect with local Christian communities. Events are designed to strengthen that nexus of introducing the churches of the Holy Land to those abroad, and provide for continuos interaction.
