PAYING TRIBUTE TO BU
FOUNDERS
The
Congregation of Eastern Churches and the Institute of Christian
Brothers Since the founding of Bethlehem University in 1973 many
organizations, foundations, NGO's and individuals have supported the
University. However, the two Founders of the University - the Congregation
of Eastern Churches and the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian
Schools - carry the responsibility for its operation and development.
The
Congregation, under the direction of the newly appointed Prefect, Cardinal
Ignace Mousa I Daoud, assists in the financial support for the operation
and development of the University. The Congregation has been the
University's most consistent and generous donor. Since the beginning, the
Brothers have been the chief administrators of the University's daily
operations. During this time 48 Brothers have served Bethlehem University.
The Institute of the Brothers is now under the leadership of the newly
elected Superior General, Brother Alvaro Rodriguez. Presently, 13 Brothers
serve as full time administrators and teachers.
