Mohammed was born in 1951 in the Nablus area. He studied Arabic literature at Baghdad university. He worked as a journalist, and now works at the Palestinian ministry of culture. In addition to his poetry publications, he published his first novel in 1996. His poetry is considered to be one of the best examples of modernist Arabic poetry.
