Thank you for the good job of recreating and keeping alive our Palestinian heritage and culture, which had been under attack for more than 100 yrs.,by the criminal acts of Zionism and its lackies and hires in Wshington and western Europe. Never in my heart or the heart of every Arab and Palestinian should the love for Galillee and the rest of occupied Palestine will never fade. Acre my home town is not only in my dream but the dream of every one of us. Our dreams are those of justice and will one day come true again. Christianity,Islam and the great Arab life is destined to return inspite of modern day barbarians.

URGENT PALESTINIAN RIGHTS
Dear friends,
Please take a moment to sign the online petition at http://rightofreturn.org/petition/index.html. The petition reaffirms the inalienable right of every Palestinian to individual and absolute restitution of his/her property, and the right to return to their original home. The petition is sponsored by The Council for Palestinian Restitution and Repatriation (CPRR), an organization recently established to provide legal aid to Palestinians and their heirs to achieve their legitimate rights.
The inalienable rights of Palestinians to restitution and repatriation are solidly anchored in a wide range of international resolutions and conventions, including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and numerous UN resolutions, and apply equally to past, current and future generations. As such, they can neither be granted nor abrogated by others.
At this time, it is urgent that all people of conscience stand together to counter the escalating pressure on Palestinians to surrender their rights and to remind all of the inalienable nature of these rights.
CPRR's work is an essential part of the Palestinian people's struggle or justice. But its success depends on your support. We invite you to become a member of CPRR to help Palestinians secure their rights. By becoming a member of CPRR you will automatically add your name to the Right to Return Campaign. For more information visit http://rightofreturn.org or write to CPRR, P.O. Box 21520, Washington D.C. 20009, USA, fax (1) (775) 418-5980, e-mail: info@rightofreturn.org

Dear freinds,
I would like to thank your team for your efforts to keep the memories of the great people , and remind us that we have a long heritage.
I suggest that the Sakakini Centre can be a place where a group of intersted people meet twice a month to discuss a palestinian work (novels, peotry, any kind of literature...)which can help people who share same intersts meet and discuss these works.
Anyway, I always enjoy your programs, good job.

Hello everyone. The Dabka Troupe here in Houston would like to update everyone on our group. First off, we have created a new website with our history, music, and future show dates(you may click the link below to access our new website). Second, we have created an eGroups forum -- ZAMFDT. Anyone is welcome to join our eGroups to receive updates on our group. In the near future, Houstonians may see us at the Arab Community Center (ACC) Gala and the Kazim Al Sahirr concert. Again, visit www.egroups.com, and enter ZAMFDT in the search box and you can register into our eGroups. Thanks and God Bless.

A very nice and interesting site; I whish that palestinian people could live in their country in peace, mantaining their traditions and culture, and you are doing a good job!
It would be great to find the link (if any) between Khalil Sakakini and Habib Sakakini Pasha (my grandfather) who arrived in Cairo (from Aleppo) more than 100 years ago.
Any feedback is welcome.

Back in the early 1970's when I was getting my MA in History of Islamic Art & Architecture at Florida State, I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Boullata when he came to speak with us on the influence of the Islamic world on contemporary Western art. After his talk he was a guest at my house for the remainder of the afternoon and I found him to be learned and gracious__a valuable spokesman for the Palestinians. Before he left he presented me with an autographed copy of "A Lover from Palestine" and ever since then I have been a great admirer of his work.

What a wounderful project, "Khaleel Sakakini Cultural Center". A monument and a remembrance to a great legend. I was fortunate to see him before he died at his hospital bed, in 1952. Related to my mother Marie Kretem, a partner to my father-in-law,Ibrahim Sh.Khuri, in the Nahda College in Jerusalem. May his memory be eternal.

Congratulations on a wounderful page, honoring a legend in Palestine history.I remember visiting Mr. Sakakini in 1952 just before he died at his hospital bed. This is a wonderful website. I am looking for any sort of information about guest speakers or lecturers who would be willing to come to my university (in Sarasota, FL) and speak to the community here about their experiences with the occupation of Palestine and al-Nakba. I can probably arrange for travel expenses to be paid for. There is still a lot of ignorance about the truth of what has gone on, and the more exposure the Palestinian's story gets, the more progress we can all make. Salaam, Karen

We are in pray with you. We also ask for your prayers as we coordinate a world-wide call for a "TIME OUT" of the escalation of U.S. war threats during THE SEASON OF NONVIOLNECE (until April 4, the anniversary of the death of Martin Luther King, Jr. We hope all organizations will support the time out as a way to let prayer and reason enter into the decisions around the Iraq-US tensions. We hope you will go to http://www.cyberfaith.org and enter your support. Pray for us as we pray for you.

I was so excited to see the fascinating building of Khalil Sakakini Cultural center when I visited Ramallah last June. I was very carious to see inside the building but my visit was not schedualed and the securityman wasn't able to show me around. If I miss something from back home, I miss such art exhibits that happened to expend just after my leaving Jerusalem since 2 years. I miss home very much and I am just dreaming about the day that I will live again in Jerusalem, and will be able to see such exhibits and other art activities in Khalil Sakakini Center. I will go home sometimes in June this year, and definitely, I will have more time to stop by Khalil Sakakini Center.

Reading the comments page on KSCC moved me. Like Fouad I grew up in Ramallah passed the (Salah House) or KSCC many times, knew Hala and Dumia, studied Arabic from Khalil Sakakini's books, and believe it or not I am married to Khalil Hanna Sakakini. My hasband was born months after his great cousin died and was named after him. We are so happy with the progress of the center and we were very proud when we toured it with our children last Summer. I salute you and best wishes from all the Sakakin's in the USA. Keep up the great work, and we will always be there for you.

I grew up in the Arab-Lutheran Parsonage next to KSCC building, and have many and beautiful memories playing hide-and-seek in its rooms and garden during my childhood days. I also have other sour memories of hiding from Israeli soldiers (again in its rooms and garden) during the horrible days of Israeli-imposed curfews on us civilians. I still clearly remember the wonderful smiles of our dear family friends Dumia and Hala Sakakini whenever we walk through al-Nuzha Street going to downtown Ramallah. I cannot begin to explain how thrilled I was to learn that that building is now named after a man that I respect and am close friends with his family. Your website is well done and your programs are excellent. Fuad Bassim Nijim.

Good, and very impressive idea. The fact that this foundation is that of a teacher is a an indication of how loyal you are to future generations and the cause of the Arab Palestine. Unlike most Arab countries, who seem to name everything after its princes, princess and the rest of the dictators. I like the Idea of the program on the "Nakbeh". I hope that you take the program international wide, through donations of generous Palestinians living abroad (.....), this program may take a trip around the world to inform about the suffering and the ongoing tyranny on the Palestinian people. One special place you might take it to Jordan And not to forget that the children of the " Nakbeh" still reside the metal shacks in the Palestinian camps without even the most basic human service there is.Look forward to see you in America. Do it before these treasure witnesses die and we only have to rely on books and documentaries.

I was delighted to discover your site while searching for material on Sahar Khalifeh (I just read "Wild Thorns"). I am impressed by the beautiful design of the site as well as the substantive information. Please add events that will take place in the U.S.! We enjoyed the exhibit on calligraphy from the National Gallery of Jordan that recently came to Chicago. My husband and I are creating a humanities course on Middle Eastern culture and civilization, and will recommend your site to students! Many thanks--

I am proud that my initial education was based on Khalil Sakakini's
work. I am even more proud to see this page on the Internet. Efforts in
putting this page are no doubt appreciated. We need to put more, for our
children to be proud of their history, present and future. We also need
to be dynamic, flexible but strong to ensure that our ethics and beleifs
are well presented and understood. Well done. Keep up the good work.
