Tamari
is a ceramist born in Jerusalem in 1945. She studied fine arts in Beirut,
ceramics in Florence, and obtained an M.Phil in Islamic Art and Architecture
from Oxford University. She is now a lecturer at Birzeit University in
Islamic Art. She held personal exhibits in Amman, Jerusalem, and Ramallah.
She has participated in a number of group exhibits in Palestine, Jordan,
London, and Baghdad. She is a founding member of the "New Visions" artists
group, and of Al Wasiti Art Center in Jerusalem. Some of her new works
can be seen on the internet.
After working on ceramic objects, she is now working on "sculpted paintings", representing sceneries, people, and old family photographs in clay. She participated in the 1998 Stockholm Fine Arts Academy “Palestinian Art” exhibit. She is a member of the Sakakini's General Assembly.
