Born in Birzeit in 1947, Mansur studied at the Jerusalem Bezalel Art Academy. He is a member of the "New Visions" artists group, and in this context has created paintings using straw, henna, vegetable dyes and clay. He is a founding member of Al Wasiti Art Center in Jerusalem. Since 1975 he has had participated in all Palestinian artists' group exhibits in Palestine, Tokyo, Israel, and the United States. His paintings depicting allegorical visions of the Palestinian struggle are among the most well known. He is also a cartoonist, art instructor, and the author of two books on Palestinian folklore. He participated in the French Palestinian spring exhibit at the Paris Institut du Monde Arabe. He won the Nile Award at the 1998 Cairo Biennial, for his series of clay panels “I am Ismaïl”.
