Thread Index Re: Meeting with Ann Bacher US Embassy Tel Aviv
Please note the following comments: 1. At such high-profile mtgs it may be good if a few Board members would attended as well. 2. The outsourcing principle is great, esp since there are 3 firms contacted already. But building upon the premise of Israel as a natural launching point may need more thought. If US firms can be convinced by Ann's participation that's great, but we must also look beyond TLV for strategic alliances. 3. I like the consortium approach but this will take time. While a consortium is being prepared we have firms like Bisan, Asel, ATS, Sidata, Noorsoft, etc that can provide services today and are not setup as a ma and pa store but rather as good foundation firms with over 10-20 employees each. Facilitating outsourcing with these types of firms would give great insight into the needed setup/requirements of a real consortium and would provide here and now relief. 4. As for the consortium, can we look at PITA playing a role and making it happen, either through equity, consultancy, etc. 5. Regarding the action points. Is there a time frame? 5. Exhibitions are always good, but I think we need to move beyond exhibitions at this exact time and work for dealflow/facilitation/targeted marketing etc. We would be kidding ourselves if we can properly market the sector and compete in the global marketplace under the present conditions and legal/regulatory/etc setup. Don't misunderstand me, exposure is always good, but a few real business cases would be much better use of our efforts.
