( any comments before I send it to Bassem, Sam, members)
Dear Bassem and all,
Thank you for your concern and interest regarding PITA Magazine. PITA's BoD
in its meeting decided that a monthly report describing PITA's main
activities for the month, including BoD main decisions and actions, will be
circulated on members for information and feedback. The first will be
distributed the beginning of October. The magazine, as you correctly
mentioned, needs extra efforts and specialized skills ( language, editing,
etc). Additional resources are needed and a recruitment process is
undergoing for a professional to handle this task among others. Members
contribution is highly needed and appreciated, once the mechanism of
publishing ( collection of information & verification, contributions,
skeleton, etc) of the magazine is done, you'll be the first to call upon
for assistance and contribution.
Regards,
Murad Tahboub

Dear Sam and all,
I held this file on my first board only as a PR officer, then PR became
responsibility of Hesham Jabi.
In the last board, we started working with DAI to sign an MOU on this issue
and on the PITA magazine, this was finalized to issue a Magazine with Alaa
Alaedeen's help. Still I believe we need a periodic electronic newsletter
that is easier to circulate and could reach our targeted audience.
I did gain some experience from working with MS Page Maker and other tools
that go into publishing, yet this task needs dedicated staff with good
language skills and good software.
I am willing to redeploy my know how and restart the newsletter if PITA did
not finalize this issue its own way. A simple electronic format should be
our focus now to fill the gap.
I am not sure who is handling this now in PITA board, maybe someone from the
board could tell us.
Regards
Bassem

Hi Bassem,
If I recall correctly, you were responsible for the newsletter issue during
the
last two Boards. Can you give us a snapshot on the work that was done
thus far so we can try to add value instead of re-create the wheel from
zero.
Also, who holds this file now?
Thanks,
Sam
