Background

The idea of establishing the Palestinian Tennis Association emerged after the inauguration of the Palestinian National Authority in 1995. An interim committee was first setup to lay down the ground work of the Association and a board of directors was later elected under the supervision of the Palestinian Ministry of Youth and Sports. Many objectives have been already accomplished so far; Problems, however, such as the lack of tennis courts and professional trainers are hindering the full development of this sport in Palestine. The current board members are working deligently, however,  to overcome all obstacles that face this new sport in Palestine.
