Details 9:00  Lebanese security officials identified the two as Salman Abdullah, a 60-year-old farmer, and Hussein Ali Issa, a 29-year-old shepherd. The sources said Abdullah was wounded by shrapnel when a shell crashed into his olive grove near the villages of Al-Dellafeh and Qilya in the Western Beqaa at 8:30. He was working in his field with his wife and two sons.  Issa, who was tending his sheep in the same area, suffered minor injuries and concussion from the shell's impact, the sources said (the Daily Star 3-11-1997).

Details 9:25  In Details, a four-linked bombs exploded as a shepherd Khalil Mohammad Al-Hussein, 27 , was grazing his herd of 35 sheep, at eastern part of Nabatieh. Al-Hussein, Marjeyoun, residing at Kfar Romman, suffered a concussion and nervous breakdown as a result of the huge explosives which contained nails, small metal balls and several mortar shells of 120 mm caliber, whereas his all 35 sheep were killed. Al-Hussein, who moved to the Nabatieh Official Hospital for treatment, said that at the first sight he thought that it is an "Israeli" shelling . So, he lied his face down before he had hurried to take his shelter in the closed homes.  The blasts resulted in four wide craters-three meters apart from each other -, a big boom heard throughout Nabatieh region and a very long black smoke column seen for a while overhead.  Earlier, an unmanned M.K. reconnaissance aircraft flew over the area, leading to the suggestion that the bombs could have been detonated by the plane.  In the wake of explosion, the Lebanese Army soldiers and security members rushed to the area where they besieged the scene preventing the civilian to get near the area. The soldiers and policemen investigating the scene reported that they found Hebrew markings on the gathered fragments.  The Daily Star observed that the attack had all the hallmarks of a roadside bomb ambush in Nabatieh in May when two civilians were killed and two wounded. Hebrew inscriptions were also found on the remnants of the May bombs.
