Description of the Park

    
Location:
The Park is located in the eastern part of Gaza City as shown in the map. The Park is triangular with a surface area of 6,000 square meters. At present, immediate surroundings along the three streets bordering the Park are relatively undeveloped. A health Clinic and a Women Sports Center have been recently built just across the western side of Park. A kindergarten, funded by the government of China, will be constructed this year across the same side. Private houses are built across the other two surrounding roads.		  

     
Components:
The project funded by AFD for Al Qubba included leveling, building, and agricultural works as well as the required lighting and recreational works. The project started at the beginning of March 2003 and was completed on July 12. The budget for the project is 114,494 Euros. More than 3,200 man day employment was provided throughout this project. At present variation order is requested from AFD to build a steel fence around the park in order to protect the belongings. Approval was granted in October and installation of the fence will be completed by the middle of November 2003.		  

     

Facilities:

Summer Theater

The park was designed to have a comfort and pleasant summer theater positioned in your way from the main entrance. Wood construction provides enough shade during sunny days. The theater can occupy a couple of hundreds people.

 

 

Green Garden

The Park has more than five green spaces (with a total area of 1,700 m2). Residents and visitors are encouraged to experience and enjoy these green spaces. More than 700 hundreds trees and shrubs have been planted in the park.
 

  
 

Playground Area

The north section of the park has a nice area with clean sand and a several playground equipment including swings, slides and balance for the use of children and toddlers.
 

  
 

Bicycling Routing

Entrances and interior sidewalks have enough spaces for bicycling activities.
 

  

Parking Spaces

The design of the park provides about 30 parking spaces for cars and vehicles, along with tens of other spaces in nearby streets.
 

    

Park at Night

Special lighting provisions have been installed to create a lovely environment at night for residents and visitors.
