In The Name Of God The Magnificent The Merciful

Charter of Honor Issued by the People of Jerusalem/Ein Karem

"Permitted are those who fight, for they were unjustly wronged and God
can mete victory upon them; those who were driven from their homes with
no cause, save their saying Allah is our Lord." (Quran 22:39)

Emanating from our deeply rooted belief throughout history, in our rights
in Palestine and from the continuous and persistent struggle to defend our
homeland a standing witness to this belief, where the passage of days and
years only increased the strength and resilience with which we hold onto
this belief, as we hold onto every grain of Palestinian soil, that, which
has been mixed with blood of our martyrs. Emanating from the basic principle
embedded in our souls that our right to sovereignty on our land is forever
and is inalienable by any treaty, agreement, or occupation what ever its form.
Affirming our right of return to our homes is one, onto which we hold, its
fulfillment we demand, and its realization we believe inevitable, as the dream
of its fulfillment thrives in our psyche andour conscience despite the scatter
of our people in the Diaspora. Also affirming, the return to our homes is our
legal right among others guaranteed by the United Nations Organization's numerous
resolutions.

All the above withstanding, given our belief in the truth of these elemental
premises, and the noble goals contained in this charter, by which we pledge
to abide without exceptions. We the undersigned people of Jerusalem/Ein Karem,
therefore, declare the following:

First: Goals contained in this document are basic principles and universally
accepted fundamentals, around which exists no disagreement among us. Those goals
emanate from the depth of our convictions, our souls, and our religion.

Second: We strive to strengthen the concept of our homeland's Arab and Islamic
identity, disseminate and deepen this concept among our children, so it may serve
as their beacon and have it adopted into their basic convictions and behavior
in order to ensure their link to the homeland and avert their deviation from this
rightful path.

Third: We hold onto the right of our sovereignty over Palestine, such is our
eternal right, and it is inalienable by any schemes of the Judaization of our land.
This stated right can not be canceled by any treaty or agreement. For the right
to sovereignty over our land is an inalienable right, that we will not squander or
surrender.

Fourth: We hold onto our right of return to our homeland and reject any compromises
to that right, as well as any squandering, or substitution there of. It is one of
our elemental rights we demand and the fulfillment of which we pursue.

Fifth: We unequivocally reject the scheme of property compensation in all its forms,
and we work to alert our children to beware of the dangers of such treacherous scheme,
as it is destined to strip away the right of ownership from its holders.

Sixth: The thought of selling land and properties, any parts there of, and surrendering
the rights to, or accepting compensations for such land or properties, is considered a
renouncement of our religion, desecration of ones honor, squandering dignity and family
honor. Perpetrators of such acts deserve all the humiliation, dishonor, and curse of
generations.

Seventh: We the undersigned of this document pledge to honor and commit to its points
herein, and disseminate this document, as it is considered a charter of honor reflecting
the conscience of its signers, and a criterion by which their stands are evaluated.
We entrust our children with this charter as a bright spot on the path to regaining our
rights in Palestine, foremost our right of sovereignty.

Eighth: We the undersigned realize that his charter is a pledge of honor and a contract
before God. We are hereby sworn not to discredit, or counteract any
point there of, no matter the explanation, cause, or circumstance.
God is our witness.

Issued in Amman on Monday, 17th of Ramadan 1419 AH; and on the
4th of January 1999 AD.
