The Cork Place
The Virtual Home of Bob and Willie Cork

It started when Bob (me) was a handsome young man from Indiana who was stationed at Yale to study Chinese for Uncle Sam. Bob often ate bagels and muffins at Julie's Diner.
Willie (she) was a beautiful young woman from Mount Carmel who was working for a doctor in New Haven. One night, walking to catch the bus, she happened to pass by Julie's Diner.

Cuddles likes her window,
and now she has her own page.

After 18 years in Connecticut, we
recently moved our empty nest to
Ocala, Florida.

Cuddles, Willie's cat,
came with us, of course.

I sell cutting tools and
abrasives to industry and do free
lance writing and marketing.

Willie is an LPN, budding genealogist,
blossoming political activist, and
travelling grandmother.

Here I am at Bantam River December, 1998, and there's Willie, holding a baby alligator, at the Chateau des Cocodries in Jennings, LA, in August 1999.

Now that we live in Florida, Willie has found other strange new friends at Silver Springs, and I spend my Sunday mornings on the Silver River

One more thing about those bagels and muffins. Julie Feldman, the Navy veteran from Brooklyn who always had an aching back, and who playfully threatened his customers with the knife he used to slice London Broil, predicted that our marriage would not last six months. He was wrong.

38 years later, we walked on
the beach at Tel Aviv, still married.

Anticipating our 40 th, we warmed up
at Disney with Jason and Mollie

And now there are many more Corks.

Here are the kids at Jim's wedding, June 28, 1997. From left, in birth order, Pam, Bill, Rob, Jim, Dan, Jason.

We are very pleased and proud that all six of our kids have graduated from college and are working in their chosen fields.

Pam is an emergency room RN in North Carolina. Bill directs campus ministries at ten colleges in Texas. Rob is a communications specialist for the American Diabetes Association in Virginia. Jim and his wife are now taking the long way home after living three years in Kake, Japan. Dan is in the second year of earning a Master's in Arab Studies at Georgetown. Jason teaches high school choral music in Boca Raton, Florida, and sings professionally.

We have six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter, Adrianna.

We were also proud to walk Jim down the aisle.

Sometimes the Corks are theatrical.

At one time or another, all five of the Cork sons
have been on stage, which inspired "Papa" Cork to revive
his acting career after all the boys had left the nest.
