EPILOGUE
FROM VISION TO IMPLEMENTATION

Fresh, insightful, sound ideas comprise the heart of a dynamic Vision. Innovation requires implementing the ideas creatively and efficiently. Successful innovation is rarely the result of decisions by administrators, but rather is a function of attitudes, behavior, skills and dedication of all the members of an organization working together. Bethlehem University now has a Vision, perhaps an incomplete one, but a forward looking Development Plan with direction, purpose and creative ideas to guide our work in the next phase of the process, the Implementation of the Vision.

Our task of implementation will not be a single, once-for-all operation. To be successful will demand a continuing search for fresh approaches to every aspect of our University. In any organization implementation is a mixture of a systematic approach and inspired improvisation. It is hoped that there will be as enthusiastic involvement in the Implementation Phase of the Five Year Plan as there was in the formulation of the Vision.

If you made a specific proposal which now appears in the Vision begin to think about how it can be realized in practice. Some needs are so critical and some changes are so necessary and straightforward that they can be acted on immediately and that is our intention.

In the Fall, as soon as the Academic Year has been successfully launched, a Working Team for the Implementation of the Five Year Plan will be chosen, the University Community will come together and we will proceed with the Implementation Phase. This will begin by reviewing and classifying the Initiatives in this Vision. Many can be implemented immediately without major expense; others will take place or be set in motion during the coming year; some will require longer-term planning and acquisition of major funding.

After 25 years, Bethlehem University has already had successes far exceeding the visions and aspirations of our founders. As we move into the immediate future, we at the University do so with renewed enthusiasm and commitment to forging our role as a University for a New Palestine in the New Millennium.
