INSTITUTE OF
HOTEL MANAGEMENT & TOURISM

   RENOVATION OF KITCHEN &
 RECEPTION TRAINING CENTER

The renovation of the kitchen and the Reception Training Center of the Institute of Hotel Management and Tourism finally began in June 2000 and was completed by September 2000. The Institute Kitchen was transformed from a 1960's style restaurant for the new millennium.

Through the generous donation of CNEWA (Catholic Near East Welfare Association) the Institute was able to renovate the entire kitchen and replace vital equipment and utensils necessary for a professional training kitchen. This equipment includes: combi-steamers, convection ovens, fully equipped stoves, griddle-tops and fryers, bain maries, various mixing machines and rechaud stations.

The entrance to the Institute of Hotel Management and Tourism was remodeled to include a training front-reception desk fully equipped to allow Hotel Management students to have practical, hands-on training experiences in a realistic environment. Our newly renovated kitchen, along with our recently remodeled dining facilities, are open daily - Monday through Friday - and are available to outside guests (tour groups, tourists, pilgrims, including all our neighbors living in the area) as well as to our students and faculty. Reservations may be made through our front office.

This very important improvement to our facilities will enhance our students' practical knowledge and experience by allowing them to do their practical application of what they have learned in their theoretical and academic classes.

We welcome you to our Institute of Hotel Management and Tourism!
