PROMOTION, FAREWELLS AND HONORS

Manuel Hassassian, PhD Promoted to Professor
Manuel Hassassian, PhD, Bethlehem University Executive Vice President has been promoted. Professor Hassassian, a scholar in international relations has published extensively in comparative and Middle East politics. He has been with the University for more than two decades teaching Political Science and has served as Dean of Students (1983-1991) and Dean of Arts (1992-1996). He is presently the head of the Jerusalem Task Force at the Orient House Negotiations Affairs Department as well as the President of the Rectors Conference at the Palestinian Ministry of Higher Education. Board of Trustees: Farewell and Thank-You
Br. Noel Sakr, FSC, Mrs. Julia Dabdoub, and Mr. Hanna Atrash, former members of the Board of Trustees were feted at a farewell luncheon by the Executive Council on January 17, 2001 at the Institute of Hotel Management. As the University bids farewell and thanks them, it welcomes three new board members: Br. Umberto Marcato, FSC, Mr. Fuad Kattan and Mr. Shukri Bishara.
