I found my way to your website in the midst of some research about Palestinian-American organizations; it's very impressive. The beautiful pictures are especially helpful for jogging my memories of several visits to Ramallah, thank you.

Hi, from Cleveland we are hard at work preparing for the 1999 convention and look forward to having you all come to our home. We have waited a long time to return the favor and our community can't wait. I would like to give you some information on some of the events we are currently working on. The first exciting event we are planning is the first ever national Debka contest. We challange all clubs to participate, We will be awarding a $2000.00 grand prize to the winning debka group, we feel this is a good way to get more people involved in the convention and something to look forward to, we will be sending out complete information to your local club presidents, so please get your debka group ready.... We have put together a special treat for the women, a beauty trade show, with more then 30 companies so far. If any of our brothers and sisters out there have any ideas or comments for us to better our convention and your stay with us, please feel free to contact me or fill out the convention survey. RAMALLAH, RAMALLAH OUR MOTHER------ Ramallah, Ramallah, you beckon me to your arms----- You cry out my name along your fruit farms-------- Eat of thy fruit and you hand me a succulent fig----- It is green, wet and juicy and rather big------ Ramallah, Ramallah, you are most generous and kind------ I left you as a child leaving my heart behind------- I remember you o'so very well------ Of you within my mind is where I dwell------- Ramallah, Ramallah, you are the jewel crown------- For the Manarah is the center of your town------- The garden restaurants are a breathe of fresh air------ We eat, drink and speak of peace as we dare------ Ramallah, Ramallah, you should be proud------ For your children have proclaimed your name out loud------ We have not forgotten you all these years------ When we left you we were in tears------ Ramallah, Ramallah, your children are all one family------ Organized, charitable and full of hospitality------- Each year we gather ourselves in a convention------ All in your honor to maintain our heritage and tradition----- Ramallah, Ramallah, you are full of bliss ------ They call you the bride of Palestine no less------ We call you our mother with all your beauty------ Leaving us serene and happy by your mercy------ By: Attorney Fadi Zanayed, 1998 (No part of this poem may be reproduced, stored in a retrieval system\, or transmitted in any form or be any means--electronic, mechanical, photocopy, recording, or otherwise--without the prior permission of Fadi Zanayed or MaryAnn Publishing, Inc. ------

I am a Palestinain American student who attends Radford University in southwestern Virginia. I am not as involved in the Ramallah community as I would like to be but find it absolutely remarkable the lengths that our people have come. I have been to a couple conventions and was too young to appreciate the family atmosphere. I have been raised with strong family values and a deep routed love for our culture. I would like to hear from other Ramallah students. Salaam:) PS: My dad will accept any marriage offers from a Rammallah lad. Really, just kidding!

Hello to all the arab young adults out there. I am writing this to encourage every young adult to join Project Hope next summer! I was a member of Prjoject Hope this year and it was a blast! Not only do you finally get to see your hometown that you keep hearing about from your parents, you also help Ramallah become a clearner, more beautiful city. It was one of the best experiences of my life! Please contact your local club president for an application! I am going again next year, so see you there!

This is the first Ramallah convention my brothers and I have had the great pleasure of attending. We had a great time. Everyone did a great job preparing for this great reunion in Houston. Hopefully, we will keep in touch with our peers so that we will see even a greater turnout in future conventions. God Bless You All and Long Live Ramallah and Its People!

my wife linda and i have set up a cruise with the endorsement of the federation to enable our people to have an opportunity to get together in addition to the convention to continue the friendships that started at the convention as well as to foster the opportunity of forming new ones. the cruise is intended for young professionals to network and develop further in formulating friendships. it is intended for people from the age of 25 to 40 give or take a little. it is for strictly r and r. singles, couples and young families are welcome. our daughter christina is going to hast the group along with several cousins and friends. space is limited and several people have already booked. so don't be left out if the idea sounds attractive to you. the price is great and the group is going to be even better. so make up your minds quickly and let me know if you want to go on this trip. don't wait too long to make up your mind. let me know if you have any questions.

Hello everyone I just got back from Houston- just wanted to say hello to all the wonderful people I met these past few days and to those I had the pleasure of meeting in Detroit last year. It's difficult out here in Buffalo because there really aren't many arabic youth to identify with. The four days of the year that I spend at the conventions are really precious to me. I'm counting down to Clevland already! :-) I miss everyone already. So to all my wonderful friends and cousins, I Love you!! keep in touch! (aol users- my screen name: Ama1ie) Love, Amal

Thank God this Web site exists! I was raised in Detroit, blonde and blue-eyed in a wonderfully diverse neighborhood of Arab American and African American people. And now, all these many years later, I am married to a generous, devout, and loving man from the proud city of Ramallah. My dear husband endured years of imprisonment for defending his homeland. Like many youth of Ramallah, he received a sub- standard education for this, spending his days in a cell instead of a high school classroom. EDUCATION is absolutely essential to the liberation of Palestine. Fight for the equal education of Palestinian youth! Peace to you all.

I am an American Christian who fully supports Palestine. I would like to hear from students in Ramallah who could tell something about their city and what life is like there. I hope to visit Ramallah someday.
