Held in Cooperation with Bethlehem 2000
Project

2000 ... A New Century
to Challenge
The 1999 Religious Music Festival
"Amen" is the 3rd festival organized by Yabous
Productions within the national program of
Bethlehem 2000 celebrations.
The events could be
described as garden in which many different flowers grow.
Each flower has a different smell and color, each has its
own special shape and form, each has its beauty
reflecting one aspect of the role of Yabous in Jerusalem.
And our aim in this program was to present the
Palestinian, Arab and religious dimensions of Jerusalem
to the world.
Yabous presented
"Amen" on the occasion of the Holy month of
Ramadan and the last Christmas of the millennium. One
hundred and three Christian and Moslem artists from eight
different countries participated in this Religious Music Festival. The Jerusalem based Yabous
cooperated with
the Bethlehem 2000 Project, the National Conservatory of
Music in Ramallah, The Nablus Municipality, the Committee
for the Promotion of Tourism in Jericho and the
Governorate of Jenin in order to hold the Festival in
these six cities. Admission to many performances was free of charge.
