The choice of the artistic program for the festival 2002 is not arbitrary, but comes as a response to the general situation that the entire region is undergoing. It is an International festival with Human dimensions, presenting music of Joy and Sorrow.

 The festival will feature different genres of music by groups and artists holding messages of humanity, justice, and freedom from different countries around the world, such as South Africa, United States, India, Cuba, Chile, and of course Palestinian artists.

 The Jerusalem Festival – Songs of Freedom will take place during the period of the 18^th to the 27^th of July 2002 at the Tombs of the Kings, Jerusalem. This festival is held in cooperation with the French Consulate.
