Funeral processions throughout the West Bank and in Jerusalem took place today for those killed during yesterday's clashes. The Israeli army has sealed off most cities in the West Bank, apart from Ramallah, which remains fairly accessible.
In Jerusalem, clashes erupted after the funeral of a Palestinian policeman killed last night.
In Ramallah last night, armed clashes continued until 4AM in the morning at Beitunia and near the City Inn at the Northern entrance of Ramallah. Two members of the Palestinian National Security Forces, Mohammed Fawzi, 21 years old from Bethlehem, and Mahmoud Al Amwassi, 33 from Beitunia, were killed in Beitunia by Israeli gun fire. Fifteen people were injured.
In Gaza, clashes have begun again at the Netzarim junction, with one person reported to have sustained serious injuries. Ammar Khalil Al Rifa'I, 16 years old from Gaza, was killed yesterday after being hit by live ammunition in the mouth.
In Sawahri , Bethlehem, clashes have begun following the funeral of Mohammed Fawzi. Armed clashes are reported to be taking place in Bethlehem at Rachel's Tomb and at the Northern tunnel entrance of Beit Jala.
Clashes in Hebron have also begun, no details at this time.
Clashes erupted after funerals in Kufr Manda, within 1948 Palestinian areas.
Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails have declared a 3-day mourning period in solidarity with those killed in the demonstrations. They have also cut all relationships with prison administration and issued a leaflet in support of the Palestinian demonstrations. A large number of people have been arrested around the West Bank, Gaza Strip and inside the 1948 Palestinian areas.
