Comments: I am still speachless from the paintings i saw today at Mr. Ismaeel's house. I always loved Palestine and i always heard many stories from my grandparents and my friends; but never have i ever seen such clarity in paintings that discuss every little, and big, detail. Comments: I accidentaly came across your web page, and I do not mind telling you that the haunting images with which you portray the suffering of our People both in and out of their homeland was very hard to bare. Within the images one could tune out the rest of the world, and for that instant, try to feel what the mother felt at the loss of her children or the children at the loss of their father, or the loss that all us Palestinians feel for our homeland. I have three boys, and your 1997 painting of the face-less Three Children sits in the middle of my computer screen as a remembrance of what I hold very dear, and the task ahead of me of teaching those children where they came from and what they have to continue to struggle to return to inspite of all the odds against them. I did not know anything about what happened on th elevel of "human suffering". I remember your paintings daily. And even more I ask myself: Why have your works of art never (as far as I know!!!) been exposed in Holland? This side of the history must become more known here in Europe. Of course, any historian can write a book about this period of time. But paint-on-canvas reaches further more than printed letters-on-paper. Art means beautiness and beautiness connects easily two different souls. Art as a means to reach human understanding, art is capable of unrevealing our human equality in spite of the appearance if differences. For this reason I address myself towards both of you. I have no specific idea or programm but something is keeping my soul and mind so busy all the days after my visit to your house. It sounds more or less like a voice which remembers me every day: "Your eyes are a witness now. What are you going to do as a testimony?" I would like to make you familiar with this whispering sound in my memory. Maybe you hear the same words coming to your mind.
